Injection moulding & tooling

Injection mould construction supervision.

Your independent engineer from DfM to the mould released for serial production. We do not sell mould designs: we make sure the toolmaker you choose builds the right mould for your part.

Why not buy a mould design

Every toolshop builds to its own standards.

Steels, standard components, cooling practice and machining methods differ from shop to shop. A mould design made elsewhere is rarely usable as it is, and a toolshop building someone else's design no longer fully owns the result.

What you need is the right mould from the right toolshop, designed to that shop's standards and to your part's specifications, and someone on your side checking that it is.

Independent, by design

  • Our fee comes from the customer only, never from the toolmaker.
  • It is typically a percentage of the tool cost.
  • The choice of toolmaker is yours. We advise.
  • We sign off the tool design on your behalf, only when your part's specifications are correctly carried into it.
What we do

From the part model to a released mould.

  1. DfM on the part

The part is made mouldable and economical before any quotation is requested.

  2. Tender to proven toolmakers

We invite suitable toolmakers from our network and compare the offers technically. You decide.

  3. Co-operation during the tool design

We work with the chosen toolshop on its own design: parting line, slides, gates, cooling, ejection and steel.

  4. Verification and sign-off

We check that the DfM and every part specification are correctly taken into account, then sign off the design on your behalf.

  5. Construction supervision

Progress, quality and schedule followed during manufacture of the mould.

  6. Sampling, corrections and updates, until release

We attend the sampling trials, assess the parts against the specification, and agree corrections and tool updates with the toolshop, as many times as needed, until the mould is released for serial production.

Experience behind the supervision

Decades inside a company that designed, built and ran its own injection moulds and supplied German automotive customers. We know what a toolshop can promise, and what a moulding shop will face with the result.

  • Engineering thermoplastics, flame-retardant and glass-reinforced grades, PEEK, PEI, PPS, PPSU
  • Two-component (2K) moulds and hard-soft combinations
  • BMC moulds, the first designed in Greece
  • Gas-assisted injection moulding
  • Aluminium soft tools and printed inserts for prototypes and small series
  • Automotive under-bonnet parts, electrical housings, defence and outdoor applications

Filling and cooling simulation

Most toolshops run filling, cooling and warpage simulation in-house as part of their design. Where a toolshop does not, or where an independent check is useful, we can run it.

Planning a new mould?

Send the part model and the quantities. We will tell you what the DfM review is likely to find, and how supervision through to release would work for your project.
